Welcome to my blog, I am currently on a 7 week road trip across the USA (with a stint to Mexico as well). You can look through my blog posts below or use the header at the top of the page to navigate to my work, store, Instagram feed and more!
This morning we took off to Mesa Verde National Park, just outside of Durango. We are staying here for the night in a very "Americanized" campsite. We got to the park early and scored tickets for 2 separate tours of the cliff dwellings. While waiting for the tours we took a quick self-guided hike as well:
Today we drove to Durango and up into the National Forest to find a random campsite. We found a great one, however it required some maneuvering in order to get down a 4WD road in my VW Jetta. We made it down successfully and set up camp. We hiked up the road for a few hours and then turned back when the sky began to look menacing. Luckily it didn't end up raining and we had a peaceful night.
We hiked to another beautiful waterfall on our way to Pagosa Springs today. Rain was chasing us the whole time and after looking at the forecast (rain) we decided to stay at a hotel and take a break from the rainy weather. We visited the local hot springs which were awesome and called it an early night.
Today we arrived at the Great Sand Dunes National Park. We got some decent weather for a few hours but then it decided to start raining again. While it was nice out we drove/hiked to a nearby waterfall where you actually had to walk upstream in the river to reach the waterfall. For the waterfall shot I am actually standing in the (very cold) water.
We have been hanging out locally for the past couple days and enjoying the 4th of July. Today we started our mini road-trip back to Phoenix but it has been raining almost nonstop in Colorado for weeks on end. The campsite we had picked out previously was evacuated several days ago due to a mudslide and is still closed. So we are looking for another campsite now (and it's still raining out!).
